Annual Meeting of the Agricultural History Society
Atlanta, Georgia
June 3, 2026
The Agricultural History Society invites applications for a graduate student workshop to be held the day before its 2026 annual conference in Atlanta, Georgia. The workshop will be based on the discussion of pre-circulated papers prepared by graduate student participants. This year’s conference theme is “Alternative Agricultures.” Submissions may reflect this theme, but papers on any topic, region, or historical period will be considered.
Accepted papers will be read by participants, including a panel of distinguished scholars, and discussed during the workshop on June 3, 2026. The workshop will run from mid-morning to mid-afternoon, with a break for lunch. Exact times will be announced by April 1.
Graduate students interested in this workshop should submit as a single PDF document a 250-word abstract and CV by March 1. Notifications of acceptance will be sent via email by April 1. Accepted presenters will have until May 15 to submit complete (or nearly complete) papers, not to exceed 25 pages. All submissions and inquiries should be emailed to Helen Anne Curry: hacurry@gatech.edu.
In support of travel, the AHS will provide $250 for each student who is selected for the workshop and registers for the AHS conference. (The graduate student rate for conference registration will be $25.) There will also be a $250 prize for the best student paper.
